Parents, students of HS Banderna hold protest against non availability of teachers | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report KISHTWAR, June 5: Students along with their parents today held a strong protest against the non-availability of teachers in High School Upper Banderna in Kuntwara area of this district and blocked the Kishtwar-Jammu National Highway near Kandni for hours together. Reports said the students along with their parents reached the National Highway (NH) near Kandni and blocked the NH demanding immediate posting of the staff in the school having strength of 154 students. The angry parents and students also rued that even after three months school uniform has not been provided to the students. In-charge CEO Kishtwar Javed Ahmed Kichloo immediately rushed to the spot and listened to the agitating students and parents who called off the protest. Speaking to Early Times, Kichloo said that the school has sanctioned staff strength of eight teachers including the post of Headmaster which is vacant while one teacher is attached in High School Sangrabata. He said that three posts of Master grade are also lying vacant in the school. He said that as a part of rationalization, in addition to existing four teachers, three teachers namely Arun Kumar, Girdhari Lal and Mohinder Singh all RRET are working in the said school. The CEO said that today two more teachers Sangeeta Devi and Ashok Kumar both RRET have been asked to join the school henceforth. He said that directions with regard to detachment of the teacher presently attached at HS Sangrabata have already been issued. He said that he has sought explanation from the concerned DDO with regard to non-issuance of school uniform. |
