Jammu, June 5: National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday nominated Omar Abdullah as vice president of the party
Omar Abdullah was working president of the party but today it was announced that he would be the vice president and Dr Farooq Abdullah remained as president of the NC-the principal opposition party of the State.
On October 29, 2017, when Dr Farooq Abdullah was elected as president of the party, Omar Abdullah was elected as working president of the grand old party of the J&K. After a gap of 15 years, NC delegated had elected Dr Farooq as president and Omar Abdullah as working president.
According to official handout issued by the party, National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday gave approval to the nomination of office bearers for key party posts to strengthen the organizational network and for close monitoring and supervision of party affairs, also to give representation to the Party's Women's Wing, Youth and other sections of the society, and reshape different wings of the party.
As per the nomination order, henceforth the party will have only one Vice President as per the JKNC Constitution.
The following party leaders and office bearers have been nominated to the following positions included Omar Abdullah - Vice President, Chowdhary Muhammad Ramzan - State Secretary Peerzada Ghulam Ahmed Shah - State Secretary, Advocate Rattan Lal Gupta - State Secretary, Ajay Sadhotra - State Secretary ,Mushtaq Bukhari - State Secretary , S. S. Salathia - State Secretary , Sakina Ittoo - State Secretary, Mir Saifullah - Central Secretary, Irfan Ahmad Shah - Central Secretary, Sajjad Ahmad Kitchloo - Central Secretary, Rashpal Singh - Central Secretary , Javid Rana - Central Secretary, Abdul Ganie Malik - Central Secretary and others.
