Early Times Report
Jammu, June 5: Taking cognizance of a news item titled, "Accused in corruption case made in-charge CEO", published in June 5th edition of Early Times, the Secretary of School Education department transferred the In-charge CEO and appointed a new official as in-charge CEO.
The appointment of new in-charge CEO has raised the question whether he would fast track the enquiry against Aruna Sharma, allegedly involved in the embezzlement of Rs. 6.7 Lakhs, when she was posted as Principal Government Girls Higher Secondary School Forlan.
As per order issued by Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmed Shah, Bishan Singh Incharge CEO Reasi was transferred and posted as Incharge CEO Kathua while Nirmal Choudhary was posted as Incharge CEO Reasi and Aruna Sharma, who was controversially appointed as Incharge CEO Kathua, after ordering attachment of Nirmal Choudhary, was posted as HOD DIET Samba.
Early Times had published a detailed story on the matter, when Deputy Commissioner Kathua had allegedly hurled abuses on Nirmal Choudhary and had got him arrested by the police. DC Kathua had acted on a complaint of Aruna Sharma, incharge DEPO Kathua and had got her appointed as Incharge CEO.
Aruna Sharma was junior most among several officials to the level of Principals besides an enquiry was also pending against her but DC had preferred her for the post, on the same day, when a reminder was sent to CEO office to fast track the enquiry.
Now the Secretary Education has taken the call and now onus lies on the new Incharge CEO Bishan Singh whether he would fast track the enquiry for the embezzlement of Rs. 6.7 Lakhs or he would also put the enquiry file under carpet.
