VOK books Range Officer Social Forestry in bribe case | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 5: Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK) has registered a case against in-charge Range Officer after it was found that the officer has issued order in lieu of money. A spokesman of VOK here said that on outcome of verification conducted by Vigilance Organization Kashmir it has been surfaced that I/C Range Officer, Social Forestry Range Budgam issued orders in lieu of bribe in respect of some Junior Malis to function as Beat Guard at Units under his supervision in Violation to the Order No. 12 of 2011 dated 31-05-2011 of Director Social Forestry J&K. "It has further come to fore that the accused I/C Range Officer while being I/C Range Officer Social Forestry Budgam made transfers of the subordinate staff to far flung areas and then after receiving huge bribe transferred them back to their convenient places of postings. Thus by abuse of his official position, dishonestly and fraudulently, in lieu of monetary benefits issued orders which were beyond his competence and in violation to standing orders of the Department," said the spokesman. The spokesman said that omission and commission on the part of I/C Forest Range Officer Budgam Imtiaz Ahmad Khan S/o Ghulam Nabi Khan R/o Nawab Bazar Srinagar at present Iqbalabad Bemina Srinagar constitute the offences punishable U/S 5(1) (d) read with section 5(2) J&K PC Act, Svt 2006. Consequently Case FIR No. 23/2018 P/S VOK has been registered and investigation taken up. |
