JKYSAC resents delay in disbursement of relief amount
6/5/2018 11:17:08 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 5: The Jammu Kashmir Youth Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKYSAC) has expressed serious concern over the delay being caused in the disbursement of financial assistance to the displaced families under PMDP package.
While addressing the media, Gurdev Singh President along with Netar Prakash and other senior leaders expressed their gratitude to PRO Jammu and his staff for doing a commendable job under the able patronage of Hemant Kumar Sharma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu and his predecessors for verifying and recommending more than 18,000 beneficiaries for payment out of a total of 26,319 beneficiaries from POK despite of many complicacies and hazards. Due to failure of biometric system hardly 30% beneficiaries out of total 26,319 could get the relief payment despite lapse of full one year period.
He said that there are certain elements who wanted to derail the process of verification of beneficiaries/DPs for their personal gains. He condemned such elements and appealed the DP's not to be mislead and swayed away by their gimmicks. He further said that it is the high time that the state govt. particularly BJP should pay immediate attention to DP's issues and streamline the process of disbursement of package on priority in a time frame period, as the hundred of DP's/beneficiaries despite of clearing their objections time and again could not get the payment and are running from pillar to post to know their status that why they have been ignored.
The DP's are confused and frustrated and are becoming the victims of unwanted elements. The matter has been brought many times in the notices of Hon'ble Home Minister various concerning Secretaries from MHA through JKSAC delegation and also authorities in Jammu but nothing positive have come out so far. He maintained that credit goes to Hon'ble Narendra Modi for providing a package of Rs. 5.5 lakh relief to each DP family which has legitimized their issues for the first time during the long struggle of DP's.
