Jammu, June 5: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) celebrated World Environment Day in the Faculty of Basic Sciences in which faculty members, non teaching staff and students participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. S E H Rizvi, Dean, FBSc highlighted the importance of the day and exonerated upon the students to spread awareness about importance of protecting the environment in the society.
An essay competition on the theme 'Protecting the Environment for Future Generations' and a sketch competition was organized in which students portrayed their concern for the environment and the programme concluded with the plantation drive by all the participants symbolizing the importance of trees in protecting the environment.
Besides, Dean FBSc., HOD Biochemistry Dr. Sanjay Guleria, Dr. Manish Sharma. Dr. Iqbal, Dr. Brijeshwar, Dr Upma Dutta, Dr Gurdev and President Teaching Association Dr Vikas Sharma were also present on the occasion. |
