Minibus unions allege harassment by Traffic police, go on strike | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 6: Alleging harassment and unnecessary fines being imposed by the Traffic Police, the Minibus Unions of various routes of Jammu city went on a strike today in protest due to which the passengers had to face lot of hardships in scorching heat. The mini bus operators' strike completely paralyzed city's public transport system as several minibuses remained off the roads. Passengers were seen waiting for the minibuses especially those who arrived at the Jammu Railway Station. Passengers faced a lot of difficulties when they did not get any minibus to reach their respective destinations. The minibus unions said that that they have been compelled to went on strike as they are unnecessarily being harassed on one pretext or the other. The operators said that if hefty challans are being imposed on them that too on regular basis, then how will they feed their families? |
