Jammu, June 6: Salal Power Station celebrated World Environment day with planting of saplings by several officials. Vanita Shekhar, first lady of Salal Power Station, Himanshu Shekhar, General Manager, Salal Power Station, Rakesh Goel, Chief Engineer (Civil), A.Z.Geelani, Chief Engineer (Elect.) and other Officers of the Power Station planted saplings in Officers Club, Jyotipuram.
Speaking on the occasion, Himanshu Shekhar said that plantation of sapling should not be restricted to certain occasions like World Environment Day only but plantation drive must go on, then and there to maintain the ecological balance.
Vanita Shekhar too spoke on the occasion. She said that saplings planted need to be nurtured and taken care of by us for their smooth growth and sure survival. |
