KVK celebrates environment day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 6: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu(SKUAST-J) organized a programme to mark World Environment day here at Dharmari village of Reasi district of J&K. Large number of farmers of the village participated in the programme. Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr.Banarsi Lal inaugurated the programme with the warm welcome of the participants. He elaborated about all the environmental issues and gave a detailed view of plastic pollution. While guiding the participants he said that plastics take thousands of years to decay and their use should be reduced as more as possible. He said that there is need to focus on environmental concerns ranging from pollution to global warming and sustainable food production to protection of wildlife He explained the water, air, soil and plastic pollution and their negative effects on the environment. During the programme Sarpanch of Dharmari, Sh. Talab Hussain was also present. The programme was concluded by Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr.Banarsi Lal with vote of thanks. |
