JKPS resolves to creates awareness on environment | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 6: With regard to the theme of the World Environment Day 'To beat plastic pollution' Jammu & Kashmir Paryavaran (Environment) Sanstha has decided to create awareness among the people to cut down the use of plastic. It was further decided to educate the rural people to say no to the plastics. Members of JKPS said that the villages have become plastic dumps, it was decided to resolve on this Day to not to carry plastic bags from the cities to our villages and start using our old cloth / jute bags. Besides last year Annual General Meeting of Jammu & Kashmir Paryavaran (Environment) Sanstha which held on 27 June 2017 it was decided to hold a brain storming session at the National Level on Water Conservation particularly of rain water harvesting of over 120 cm rainfall annually in the Shivaliks by involving national level scientific institutions in the technical programme besides the multifarious stake holders. In addition Dr. Ram Vishwakarma agreed to extend the scientific know how, technologies and laboratory facility for the promotion of pharmaceutical entrepreneurship besides extending training facilities to the farmers, Ex-Servicemen and the unemployed youth. In view of the upcoming biotech park at Ghati, Kathua at a cost of Rs 125 Crores, the IIIM also assured all support of available infrastructure for improvement of livelihood and income generating programmes with in the biotech park. |
