Police apprehend 3 Kashmiri youth with 2 Kg charas

Rajouri, June 15: Rajouri police under the overall supervision of Yougal Manhas, SSP have busted an inter-district narcotic smuggling network and have arrested three Kashmiri youth from Pulwama district along with 2 kilogram of charas.
The drug peddlers reportedly were in the town either to deliver the consignment of charas to their associates or were in the town to establish new contacts, is a matter of detailed investigation and police have started the investigation.
In a major success have busted a inter district narcotic smuggling module and have arrested three residents of Kashmir along with 2 kilogram of charas.
The accused are identified as Riaz Ahmed Dar son of Mohd Shaban Dar, Shahid Ul Islam son of Imtiaz Ahmed Mir, and Manzer Bashir son of Bashir Ahmed Tali resident of Ghath Mohallah all from Pulwama district.
Yougal Manhas, SSP said Sukhdev Singh, deputy SSP during routine frisking of the vehicles signalled for a car to stop but the driver crossed the 'naka' in full speed.
Cops on duty swiftly chased the car and detained all the three occupants. During frisking, police recovered impure charas from three accused. 1/2 kg packet of charas was recovered from the possession of each drug peddler including driver Riaz Ahmed." Said SSP. All the accused have been booked under sections 8/20/29 ndps act at police station rajouri.
A team headed by Govind Rattan, deputy SP ,hqs under supervision of additional SP, Mohd Yousuf is investigating the case and questioning the arrested accused to unearth their local level links.
"Anti drugs operations are being carried out vigorously by district police and stern action has been initiated against people involved in peddling in past" said SSP.
