Amit Shah's scheduled visit to Jammu makes BJP ministers jittery | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 15: The scheduled visit of BJP national president Amit Shah to Jammu is giving sleepless nights to the party ministers in the J&K coalition government. Ahead of the scheduled visit, the BJP ministers are learnt to be taking unofficial classes for effectively projecting their achievements with regard to the concerned portfolios before Shah who is arriving here on June 23 for reviewing their performance. According to BJP sources, the visit of Shah is part of his nationwide tour for assessing the ground situation vis-a-vis performance of the party and ensuring emergency corrective measures ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Even as the BJP ministers are said to be unnerved over their performance, sources said that the purported resentment among general masses against the party and more particularly against those in the government was giving sleepless nights to them. Interestingly, sources added, these BJP ministers are more worried about the feedback given by own party legislators and leaders who are apparently looking for an opportunity to pull the former for their alleged insensitive attitude towards the public issues. Sources further informed that RSS is also taking keen interest in projecting positive image of these BJP ministers, particularly those inducted in the cabinet recently. The RSS has asked these ministers to tighten their belts for Shah's visit and submit respective report cards in a form of comparative study, sources added. Though the sources ruled out any possibility of a reshuffle on the basis of performance review, sources said that that BJP ministers don't want to give any reason of annoying Shah who is leaving no stone unturned for the party success in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and hence may resort to any punitive action against those not performing well. |
