Sat Sharma distribute free gas connection

Jammu, June 15: In his home constituency, Jammu West, Minister for Housing and Urban Development Sat Sharma distributed free gas connection to the needy women in the premises of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Kabir Colony at W.No.40 Talab Tillo.
More than 2 dozen Gas Connections with all the assembly were distributed under PM Ujjwala Yojana.
The minister was also accompanied by State Press Secretary Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, District President Jammu West Ayodhya Gupta, Mahila Morcha State General Secretary Veenu Khanna, Mahila Morcha District President Veena Gupta, Mahila Morcha District General Secretary Neelam Nagotra, Sabha Office bearers and other prominent political and Social Activists.
While distributing the gas connections, Sat Sharma focused on the need to shift from old cooking systems to newer healthy one involving LPG gas stoves. He said that cooking with the old systems involving wood and charcoal forced our mothers to in hail the smoke of hundreds of cigarette at a time which adversely affected their health. Minister stressed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi who himself hails from a very humble back ground came to the rescue of poor households who earlier resisted the temptation to switch to the LPG mode due to economy constraints. He said that these free LPG connections will go a long way in positively effecting mental and physical aspects in the society.
Sat Sharma also threw light on various central and state sponsored public welfare schemes. He said that we must all make ourselves aware of these schemes so that these could reach the targeted population. He also interacted with the gathering present and inquired them of their various issues.
Ayodhya Gupta, Neelam Nagotra, Sabha Chairman Sardari Lal also addressed the gathering. Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha President Puran Chand presented the note of thanks.
Dr. Pardeep Mahotra conducted the proceedings during the programme.
