Contractual lecturers hold protest, demand regularization | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 15: Contractual (10+2) lecturers today held a protest seeking regularization of their services. Amid shouting slogans, the protesting lecturers today protested against the Government. They alleged that the Government has turned blind eyes towards their demands even as many of them have completed 10 to 15 years in service in Education Department. They claimed that the Government has not recognized their work and instead harassment is being done to the contractual lecturers who have rendered their services to the department even in those areas where permanent lecturers fail to go or avoid joining their duties. "We have raised the graph of education system in Jammu and Kashmir yet all of us are facing mental harassment after Government turned its back towards them," said protesting contractual lecturers. Arun Bakhshi, president of All J&K Contractual Lecturers (10+ 2) Association, said that they are demanding their regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, a Legislature passed for the regularization of all the ad-hoc/ Contractual/Consolidated employees on completion of seven years of their service. He appealed the Government to open their eyes and ears to look and concede their genuine demand of regularization as per Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, as it has already been done in all departments (Health, Engineering. |
