In the video, thousands of residents of Poonch can be seen thronging the place, in a bid to pay last respect to the nation’s hero.
Aurangzeb of the 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) Camp Shadimarg was abducted on Thursday morning. The report of the abduction surfaced after a pharmacist complained to the police that an Army jawan who had taken a lift from him had been seized by masked men who had stopped the vehicle.
Aurangzeb, who was unarmed at the time, was on his way home having been granted leave to celebrate Eid. He had been the 'buddy' of Major Rohit Shukla who had killed dreaded terrorist Sameer Tiger. His bullet-ridden body was recovered at the Gusoo village in Pulwama on Thursday night.
Aurangzeb's father, himself an Army veteran, had appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to avenge his son's murder within 72 hours. |
