Girl killed, 18 injured in road mishap | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 29: A girl pilgrim died while 18 others got injured in a road mishap on Jammu-Poonch highway in Rajouri district today afternoon. Official sources said that 19 persons including minors from Beli Charana (Jammu) and from Udhampur district who had come to pay their respects at world famous shrine of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah at Shahdra village in Thanamandi tehsil in Rajouri district sustained injuries. While on way back to Jammu the driver of Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration No. JK02G-7850 lost control over the vehicle, reportedly due to nap, and the vehicle skidded off the road and fell in adeep gorge. The injured pilgrims were immediately removed to district hospital by the people from nearby villages with the help of police and army personnel. Doctors at district hospital declared Maroofa Bid/o Murad Ali r/o Panchari (Udhampur) as brought dead while 18 others were provided immediate medical help and are under treatment and safe. Police have taken cognizance of the accident and after legal formalities have started investigation. The body of the girl was handed over to the legal heirs after autopsy and legal formalities. The injured have been identified as 25 year old Asraf Hussain, 20 years old Mushtaq , 40 year old Mohd Fareed, 20 years old Zulekha and her 10 years old brother Munir, 50 years old Kamoo w/o Fazal Din,Zulekha w/o Mohd Asraf, 80 years old Feroz Din, Nazia 10 years old, 30 years old Shamoo, 18 years old Mohd Saleem, 60 years old Tara , 10 years old Razia, 4 years old Sofia d/o Arshad, 10 years old Middu, 22 years old Seema and all resident of Beli Charana (Jammu), Shakoora w/o Mohd Yousif and her 25 years old son Arshad Ali both r/o Panchari (Udhampur). |
