Gujjars-Bakarwals still Politically, socially, economically backward: Poonchi | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 1: Shamsher Hakla Poonchi said that the Gujjars-Bakerwals of J&K are still Politically, Socially, Economically and Educationally lagging behind and are backward. Gujjars and Bakarwals are facing a troublesome and a hardship life and face these difficulties and problems in their day-to-day life. As per press statement issued here, Shamsher Hakla Poonchi said that the problems and needs of Gujjar Bakarwal community are quite different from other communities of the J&K state. Language and culture of Gujjar Bakarwal community is also different than those of other communities of J&K state. Gujjar Bakarwal community is different and as such the community has a distinct identity. Gujjar Bakerwal community mostly resides in Far-flung, hilly mountainous areas near forests and on the Indo-Pak Line of Actual Excluding Leh and Kargil district Gujjar-Bakarwal community has its habitation in twenty (20) districts of J&K state. He said that inorder to solve the problems and difficulties of Gujjar-Bakarwal community of J&K an Advisor to Governor from this community is needed as he might play an important role for the betterment of Gujjars Bakarwals of J&K. He appealed to the Governor NN Vohra to nominate advisor from Gujjar-Bakarwal community so that he may help in taking concrete steps for welfare and upliftment of Gujjar-Bakarwal community during the Governor rule. |
