Early Times Report

Udhampur, July 1: The dilapidated condition of Pathan Mora road near Dassal in district Rajouri is multiplying public problems and the locals apprehend that any mishap can happen anytime on this road.
Surprisingly, the authorities concerned are doing nothing to get this road repaired which is in such pitiable condition for over ten years.
The condition of this road has deteriorated further in rainy season and the continuous rains have turned the road slippery making it dangerous for the commuters and pedestrians.
Locals told ET that time and again they visited the offices of the concerned departments but to no avail.
"The matter was also brought into the notice of the local MLA but nothing except assurances was given to the affected people," Bhishan Lal, a local informed.
He further said that a population of over 40,000 is dependent on this road.
"Though the work on the road was started few months back but it was left mid-way for the reasons better known to the concerned authorities," Subash, another villager said adding that children were most affected as they had to use this road twice every day to go to school.
The locals have appealed to the Governor N.N Vohra to look into the matter and instruct the concerned authorities to get the road repaired as soon as possible to give reprieve to the locals.
