Jammu & Kashmir Ex-Services League holds AGM | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 1: Jammu & Kashmir Ex-Services League held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) here today at Zila Sainik Welfare Office. On the occasion, members of the J&K Ex-Services League welcomed the Governor's Rule in J&K State with a view to redress the grievances of the people of Jammu and Ladakh in general and the ex-servicemen of J&K in particular. The veterans from all the three regions unanimously passed a resolution in the AGM that all the pending issues must be taken up by the present regime like disparities in recruitments in government jobs particularly in the secretariat, education department and Public Service Commission appointments, 4 laning of Jammu-Akhnoor highway, Tawi Lake project, Rope way, Jammu bypass and various central government institutions like AIIMS and IITs. They expressed their resentment on the delay in establishing Sainik Colony in Kashmir, Land for Fauji colonies in Jammu, revival of Sainik Vanaspati Cooperative and stressed the urgency in fulfilling their long outstanding promises. They also requested to revise the annuities like Param Vir Chakra etc. The presidents from the districts raised their specific problems which were discussed threadbare. Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal assured them for taking up with the Defence, State and other concerned authorities like the demand for mobile canteens in different areas, providing Zila Sainik Boards in each district and extending ECHS facilities to difficult areas where substantial number of Ex-Servicemen reside like Kishtwar, Poonch and Kupwara districts. |
