JAMMU, July 1: The Prakash Utsav-2018 function, conferring "Alakh Samman" to prominent personalities who have selflessly worked for propagation of Art, Culture and Literature was solemnized today by Shri Alakh Sahiba Trust (Regd) at Mata Shree Roop Bhawani Bhawan, Tirath Nagar, Talab Tillo Jammu.
The Alakh Samman was started last year and is continued by SAS Trust in connection with celebration of 400th Aaverbhav Divas - Prakash Utsav of Mata Shree Roop Bhawani which falls in the year 2021. The recipients of this year's Alakh Samman Awardees were Padamshree Late Moti Lal Kemu, Omkar Nath Shastri of Vijayshewar Panchang, Radio Sharda, all of whom have contributed a lot for preservation of culture.
A special feature of the occasion this year was that SAS Trust decided to acknowledge the extra ordinary and meritorious performance of the achievers, who have excelled in their academics & carrier making pursuits.
Commissioner Relief & Rehabilitation J&K Govt ML Raina, was Chief Guest of the function and also presided over the Award Conferring ceremony.
The programme was compared by PK Raina, which started with Guru Vandhana by budding artists, small children (Himanshu Pandita and Anjali Pandita) and Devotees of Mata Shree Roop Bhawani lead by the President SAS Trust.
Speakers threw light on life and philosophy of Mata Shree Roop Bhawani and they were Kamlesh Tufchi of Satisar Foundation, Dr. Susheel Wattal from Bhagwan Gopi Nath Trust, Prof. Pran Nath Trisal, former HOD Sanskrit Department Jammu University, CM Dhar President Alakh Sahiba Trust (Regd) and Pushpa Raina, social activist.
The programme was attended by prominent members of Society in general & devotees in particular. The Religious, Social and Philosophical discourses and deliberations were highly appreciated by the august gathering. It was impressed by the intelligentsia that a chair in the name of Roop Bhawani must be established in all the Universities of India in general and J&K in particular.
