Manjit Singh cautions against attempt to create division in society
7/1/2018 11:11:29 PM
Early Times Report
vijaypur, July 1: Former Minister and JKPCC general secretary Manjit Singh accused of previous PDP-BJP Government of making the State unsafe and rise of militancy in Kashmir valley where level of insecurity among people have increased.
Under a democratic Government, he said, it is not expected that they don't care about the people whether they belong to Jammu or Kashmir or Ladakh.
However, the previous Government was concerned about their selves and left the people to the mercy of God, while the situation on the border with Pakistan and in Kashmir valley continued to deteriorating day-by-day, said Manjit Singh.
The former minister was addressing Congress workers at Vijaypur as a part of monthly meeting.
"In national interest, it is against the nation and the country's internal security to achieve political gains by dividing a state. Congress party is one political party which always stood during crises in the country and kept Jammu and Kashmir united with rest of the Country unlike BJP who are bent on creating division within society," he alleged.
Coming down heavily on GST, he said, the BJP which is celebrating the implementation of GST across the country has failed to fulfil its own promise because tax is imposed on the commuters who enter Jammu and Kashmir from Lakhanpur. The slogans of one tax has fallen flat and has also exposed the double policies of BJP, he alleged.
He claimed that people are fed up with the misleading policies of BJP and in coming Assembly Elections and Parliamentary seats, it would be a hard nut for BJP to break as they will not be able to cross even 10 seats in assembly.
He cautioned the people cutting across the religious lines to keep united and never believe in rumors because some elements in society wants to create further divisions to hurt the country on communal lines.
"As an educated and civilized citizen of the country and residents of Jammu and Kashmir, we should not allow elements to disturb peace in the border state which is passing though a tough stage in view of failure of BJP-PDP Govt," he said.
