JAMMU, July 1: Jammu Kashmir Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti (JKRBPS) organized first Prof Satya Paul Shrivatsa memorial lecture here today at Press Club of Jammu. Prof Shrivatsa, an eminent scholar of Sanskrit, Hindi, Dogri and English languages has more than 20 books in different languages to his credit. In addition to it, he has several write ups being published in eminent magazines and so many Radio plays in Sanskrit and Hindi being broadcast from All India Radio Jammu. The first Prof Satya Paul Shrivatsa memorial lecture was given by Padamshree Prof Ved Ghai, a prominent literary personality not only of the region but all over the country. The function was presided over by Prof Vishavmurti Shastri, an eminent scholar while Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J & K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was Guest of Honour on the occasion. They highlighted the need of hour to preserve our literature and particularly Sanskrit language, the mother of all languages from extinction. In the event, eminent literary personalities like Prof Ram Pratap, Prof Pritam Chand Shastri, Prof Rita Jitendra registered their participation by giving their own viewpoint on the lecture as well as about the works of great personality Prof Shrivatsa. Prof Bharat Bhushan Sharma, the secretary and convenor of JKRBPS while conducting the program gave a detailed account of the works of Prof Shrivatsa and said that the organization intended to continue this as a series. JKRBPS president Deedar Singh while welcoming the elite gathering said that whenever the prominent personalities grace such functions with their auspicious presence, the event becomes a memorable one. On the occasion, Dr Aruna Sharma presented vote of thanks. |
