Protest procession against drug-addiction taken out

Jammu, July 16: A protest procession was taken out from Gurudwara, Digiana Ashram, Jammu to Satwari Chowk under the Chairmanship of Shiromani Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch to stress upon the J&K Govt. to take strict action against the sellers of drug namely (Chita) which destroy the health after who consume it and become habitual of this drug addiction.
Many political, social and religious personalities of various political participated including Raman Bhalla, Ex-Minister, Ch. Lal Singh, Ex-Minister, Prof. Garu Ram, Ex-MLA, S. Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman, Sikh United Front (J&K) and Ex-President J&K Gurdwara Parbandhak Board, Yuvraj Ranvijay Singh, Grandson of Dr. Karan Singh.
The leaders of various Sikh organizations including Shiromani Akali Dal (J&K), Sikh United Front (J&K), Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society (J&K), AISSF, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Sikh Welfare Society, Members DGPC, Jammu, J&K Transport Association, Members of Local Gurdwara Committees and many members of various social organizations.
All the speakers of various political leaders in one voice asked the State Governor N.N. Vohra to issue strict directions against the sellers of the said drug and put them behind bars and under PSA.
The police should also be directed to arrest culprits of the said drug of sellers and users and no leniency should be given in this regard. All the speakers also asked the State Governor to take action in this regard. The police officials who are involved in this racket for selling the said drug should be dismissed from service and also put them behind bars and also appoint honest police officials curb this menace, within one week and held discussion with Mahant Manjit Singh Ji to control and ban on this drug.

Rajinder Singh, S. Tejpal Singh and S. Jagmohan Singh.
