Jammu, July 16: The NSS unit of Government Degree College Bishnah under Swachh Bharat Summer Internship went for door to door survey cum campaign in the panchayat Chorli at village Sri Partap Singh Pura (Lalyana). For purposes of the survey-cum-campaign, the Nodal Officer for the internship Prof Amit Kumar Sharma divided the interns into 5 teams. The interns went door to door and enquired from the people about the construction of the toilet in their homes by any Govt. agency or on their own alongwith its usage, disposal of the waste and the use of safe drinking water. During the survey, it came to light that there are some homes with no toilets, the residents do not segregate the home waste into dry and wet and do not have compost pits in their homes or fields for the conversion of wet waste into compost. The interns also made aware the residents regarding the importance of toilets in homes, segregation of the waste into dry. |
