State, Centre fail to ensure return, rehabilitation of KPs: JTC | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 23: Jagti Tenement committee Jagti expressed their grave concern over the slackness of the State and Centre Government in ensuring return and rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita president. Addressing the participants, Shadi Lal Pandita said that now more than 28 years have passed when the Kashmiri Pandit community was forced for en-mass migration from their native localities in Kashmir valley and to migrate to Jammu and other parts of the country. The community has been put to huge sufferings due to their migration and the community was to ensure return and rehabilitation by bringing up satellite townships for permanent rehabilitation of the Migrant community but nothing in this regard has been done by the Governments since 1990. He appealed the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir state for early return and rehabilitation of this migrant community in Kashmir valley by bringing up Satellite townships enabling this community to live peacefully a dignified living. A demand has been made for release of balance exgratia to the migrants whose residential houses had been burnt and damaged since 1990 and part exgratia sanctioned and released. A demand has also been made for implementing the Prime Ministers employment package for Kashmiri Pandit migrant youth in letter and spirit by filling up the remaining posts under this package. |
