JKFFA pays tributes to Chandra Shekhar Azad | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 23: Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) on Monday paid rich tributes to revolutionary freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad on his 112th birth anniversary in a function organized at Dogra Shourya Shaheedi Sthal, Amphalla, here. The function was organised by JKFFA President Ved Gandotra. Floral tributes were paid to the great soul by all the participants. Working President, Jammu Province People's Forum (JPPF), M S Katoch was the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, Gandotra said that Shaheed Chander Shekhar Azad fought and jerked the base of the British rule in India with his dedication and sacrifice. The sacrifices of the freedom fighters and the martyrs, he said, were still a ray of hope for our countrymen to follow to make an India of their Martyr's dreams. Gandotra stressed the need to make the younger generation aware of the contribution of freedom fighters. "It is their contribution that has given us independence. Whenever you think about freedom fighters and the freedom of India against Britishers the first name will hit in your mind and that is Chandra Shekhar Azad," he said. He added that Azad was a great and powerful revolutionary of India, wanted to get rid of independent India from the clutches of the British. Azad will always be remembered as a great freedom fighter, Gandotra maintained. |
