Agencies New Delhi, Aug 19: Two over-ground workers of Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit were arrested in Kupwara district on Sunday. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession. As per a news agency tweet, the arrests were made in a joint operation launched by Handwara police and 30 Rashtriya Rifles. However, more details awaited. Security forces have cordoned off the area and search operation is going on. Earlier in the day, one terrorist was killed as the security forces foiled an infiltration bid in Baramulla. The terrorist had not been identified. The operation is currently in progress. The Baramulla incident has come a day after three militants were killed on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir as the Army foiled an infiltration attempt, police said. On August 16, four soldiers were injured in a gun battle with militants on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. The injured soldiers have been shifted to an army hospital. |
