Jammu, Aug 19: In a very shocking revelation, the employees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in connivance with agents of private company have been fleecing pilgrims by overcharging for battery car facility.
The incident came into light, when a family from Dehli visited Jammu to pay obeisance at Vaishno Devi. They informed that on reaching Ardh Kuwari, they contacted the agents for battery car facility to reach Bhawan but when they were asked to pay extra for tickets, they were shocked to see the open loot by the employees deployed there.
They further said that the contract to operate battery car has been given to a private company on annual agreement and the ticket rate from Ardh Kuwari to Bhawan has been fixed Rs 354 per person and Rs 254 for return but agents have been charging Rs 200 extra for one side.
When contacted, an employee of shrine board shamefully confirmed that without extra payment, the battery car facility can't be availed. |
