Jammu, Aug 19: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani', a special drive against drugs launched by Jammu Police, today Police party of Pacca Danga Police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered over 10 kg poppy straw (bhukki) from their possession.
Police spokesman said that while on Naka duty at Manda, Jammu police party of Pacca Danga apprehended two pedestrians who revealed their names Dharampal and Ajay Kumar both residents of Bassi Hoshiyarpur, Punjab were stopped for checking.
"During search of their belongings 05 Kg 11 Gm and 05 Kg 200 Gm Poppy Straw respectively was recovered from their possession", said spokesman adding that in this regard a case under FIR No. 124/2018 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Pacca Danga and further investigation of the case is going on.
The arrest and recovery was made by the team headed by SI Dheeraj Nagpal-SHO Pacca Danga, under the supervision of DySP Varun Jandial- SDPO City North and GL Sharma- incharge SP City North Jammu. |
