Abolish Article 35A for peace, prosperity of J&K: SRS | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 30: Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday reiterated demand of abolition of Article 35A from J&K State immediately. In a press statement issued today, SRS State President, Rajiv Mahajan advocated that if Union Govt really wants peace in J&K, then without any further delay this discriminatory Article must be abolished in the interests of nationalist people of both Jammu and Ladakh. Mahajan further added that Article 35A must certainly go, as it is illegal. The BJP must take a formal stand on its elimination, and protect rights of other Indian citizens to reside and acquire property in J&K, he said. "We cannot forever have a one-sided policy where Kashmiris can settle anywhere, but non-Kashmiris can only be second-class citizens in J&K," Mahajan added. Mahajan suggested that if Article 35A difficult to be removed from J&K State, then trifurcation of State with Jammu and Kashmir different states and Ladakh as Union territory is only viable solution. He pinpointed that if J&K is integral part of India, and if unity in diversity something for BJP to consider then why aspirations and sentiments of people of Jammu and Ladakh don't matter for Union Govt and always priority is given to utterances of Kashmiri leadership which only talks of Kashmiris and their anti-nation designs and that too at the cost of interests of people of Jammu and Ladakh. Mahajan also criticized the statement of State Govt requesting Supreme Court to defer hearing on 35 A on one pretext or another. Now day before yesterday Governor Administration has again appealed SC to defer hearing till Panchayat elections are held in State. Mahajan expressed surprise over the relevance of appeal and maintained that conducting elections has nothing to do with Article 35A. He asked the Union Govt and Governor administration not to pay heed to those who are issuing provocative statements regarding negative impact of eradication of Article 35A in the State are only befooling and becoming fools. |
