Early Times Report
Udhampur, Aug 30: The building of Government Primary School Plasa which was damaged in a landslide in 2014 is awaiting repairs. The locals informed that education of their children is at stake and the department is paying no heed towards this. "Time and again we visited the offices of education department and every-time we got fake assurances as no work on the ground started," Rumal Singh-a local informed. Another local said that four years are over and still they are waiting to see the school building getting repaired. The school, at present, functions in a private residence in the village. The locals and students have appealed to the Governor Satya Paul Malik and DC Ravinder Kumar to look into the matter. They have also threatened to intensify their protest if the school is not repaired as soon as it is possible. CEO Udhampur was not available. |
