Passenger sheds in bad condition
9/2/2018 9:50:18 PM
Early Times Report
Mendhar, Sep 2: The passengers sheds in Bus Stand Mendhar are said to be in shambles as Rural Development Department has failed to maintain their property despite being provided the hefty sums for repair and maintenance of the same sources said here today. Sources said most of the passenger sheds were occupied by Rehri walas to dump their goods there or being used by the locals for their uses while as department seems to be unmoved over the dilapidated condition of these sheds.
In sub division Mendhar its Bus Stand has no passenger shed in use. Bus stand witnesses huge rush of passengers but they have no place to sit a while at any place. Females and old age people were worst sufferers as they find no place for resting when they come over the bus stands here. The Passanger shed have been using local traders for keeping their goods etc for sale on the road side. It is Irony that department of Rural Development is unmoved despite taking Ada tax and other revenue over the issue to provide better facilities to passengers who have to wait for buses and other means of transport on road sides in hot and cold days but find no safe resting place, sources said. Social Worker Nayaz Khan urged district authorities of Poonch to take cognizance of the issue and repair the defunct passenger shed in Mendhar.
