POONCH, Sept 6: Jammu and Kashmir Insaaf Movement (JKIM) today organized a day long public convention under the chairmanship of Javid Iqbal Reshi, the chairman of the movement.
Speaking on the occasion, speakers said that the 2014 flood victims are still awaiting justice as compensation for their losses is yet to reach them. The speakers demanded for early release of funds under Prime Minister's special package to compensate the losses incurred in the 2014 floods. They demanded to release first, second and third installment for the flood victims, who had lost their homes. The speakers sought completion/ restoration of all damaged bridges, roads, culverts and embankments including Drungli bridge, Dalhan bridge, Dehri-Nangali Sahib road, Christ School Poonch to SK bridge embankment, Marnote Sathra embankment, Kalai Chandak bela embackments, Kalani protection wall and early completion of Timbra-Kalani bridge and others, damaged due to flood. Early release of pending funds under IAY scheme of financial year 2014-15 and other liable funds under MGNREGA, SDRF, BRGF, SBM as well as other centre/state sponsored schemes was also demanded.
