Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 6: Joint Action committee J&K (General Category) ,JKGCWF ,Aarakshan Virodhi Manch jointly today held an strong but peaceful protest here in Exhibition Ground Jammu under the leadership of Ved Praksh Sharma, President Brahaman Sabha &Convenor JAC ,Anil Gaur Gen Secy JAC ,Madan Lal Narad, Gen Secy AVM, Ram Pal Seth, President AVM, against the amendment introduced by Central Government on the SC/ST Atrocities Act and stand taken by Central Government advocating in supreme court for Reservation in Promotions. Ved Prakash Sharma ,Convenor JAC strongly condemned the action of Modi Government to murder the Rule of law ,wherein they have brought and passed the amendment to overrule the Supreme court order on SC/ST Atrocities act. Moreover as it was illegal and unconstitutional to grant reservation in Promotions without following laid down law.
The action of central government tantamount to seeking murder of General category people and through reservation in Promotion it is Merit and Seniority, muzzling the right to equality and justice. The amendment by central government is political in nature and far from premises of law and justice.
The matter having been tested on the rule of law parameters was adjudicated in the Supreme court has been swept away by a amendment of central government which seeks to sideline the Rule of law and also it is contemplating the same for Reservation in Promotions.
