Jammu, Sept 20: On the request of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, the Commissioner /Secretary to Government, Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, J&K, Abdul Majid Bhat, visited the Office of the Association and held a detailed discussion with office bearers and members of the Association.
Slathia during the course of discussions projected various problems being confronted by the Association including the requirement of Library to the newly enrolled young lawyers' who are at the threshold of their professional career, besides the conversion of sheds, opposite to the lawyers' canteen in District Court complex, for providing Bar Room facility to the members of the Association. Slathia also thankfully acknowledged and recalled the helping hand extended by the Law Secretary in expediting the release of an amount of Rs. 1.00 Crore as announced by the then Law Minister in June 2017, while addressing the members of the Association in High Court Complex, Jammu, to provide Air condition facilities in Bar Rooms as also the Courts situated in District Court Complex, Jammu. The Law Secretary after due deliberations assured that he will take-up the matter with the concerned higher authorities and will ensure that the genuine demands of the Association viz providing of the Library facilities to the Young Lawyers and construction of Bar Room opposite lawyers' Canteen District Court Complex, Jammu, are fulfilled at the earliest.
