| Poppy straw recovered from seized truck, drug smugglers-forest officials' nexus exposed | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 4: Following the seizure of the truck from Lakhanpur after alleged smugglers jumped a naka from Hatli Morh, Lakhanpur police during search recovered poppy straw boxes from the truck and registered a case in this regard.
Police sources said that a case under FIR no. 108/18 under section 8/15 NDPS Act, 147, 148, 353 332 and 109 of RPC has been registered at police station Lakhanpur however, no arrest was made in this connection when last reports came in and the police registered open Fir in this case.
If sources are to believed, on Tuesday willow cleft smugglers have arguments with police when the truck they were travelling in was stopped by naka party at Hatli Morh falling under the jurisdiction of police post Hatli and later with the help of two civilians and an official of forest department smugglers managed to escape from the spot along with the truck.
The truck bearing registration number JK13A-9512 was taken to Lakhanpur by the a forest official and in the meantime police party of police station Lakhnapur reached on the spot where a minor scuffle was also broke out but the police managed to take the truck to police station Lakhanpur.

Sources further claimed that some employees of forest department sustained minor injuries in the scuffle. |
