| As Chubu nallah threatens human lives, demand for bridge grows | | |  Ashwani Sharma

UDHAMPUR, Oct 4: As the notorious Chubu Nallah in Mir Panchayat of tehsil and block Pancheri is a known source of compounding problems for the general public of the area, the demand for construction of a bridge over it is growing with the each passing day.
Locals informed that during rains this nallah gets flooded which has even claimed many precious lives.
"The gushing water of the nallah particularly in rainy season stops the public movement as the people fear of getting drowned or washed away," Sunita, a housewife who lives in block Pancheri told Early Times.
"The public of Mir and adjoining areas is demanding construction of a bridge over this nallah since long but the authorities concerned have not paid any heed towards it," Girdhari Lal, an elderly person living near the nallah said.
"To avoid risk the public has to take a detour which is very long and consumes a lot of time due to which students reach their schools late and get reprimanded by the teachers," Seema, a school teacher said.
The suffering public has appealed to the Government administration to look into the matter seriously and get the required bridge constructed over the nallah so that the public may heave a sigh of relief. |
