Poonch, Oct 4: The border district Poonch which is known as mini Kashmir has failed to attract attention as its beauty has not been publicized by the concerned authorities.
According to sources, there is no proper informative/sign board in entire district which indicate the water falls, springs, fields, historical places and religious shrines in Poonch.
Locals from different segments of the society informed Early Times that "Poonch is not less than Kashmir, but apathy of tourism authorities and political representatives have failed to project its beauty", due to which Poonch is ignored. Wali Mohd Sheikh, Mohd Sharief, Imtiaz Ahmed and many others from Loran, Sawjian, Mandi and Surakote have appealed governor Satya Pal Malik to take Poonch as priority to give relief to Poonch people. |
