| India Institute of Local Self Government celebrates Gandhi Jayanti | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 4: The All India Institute of Local Self Government, Jammu celebrated " Gandhi Jayanti as swachhta Diwas' on the eve of Birthdays of Rashtriya Pita Mahatama Gandhi and Former Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The Trainees of the ongoing batches of the Regional Center Jammu participated in the programme by taking an active part in different programmes dise-minating the activities of the Institute in broader spectrum conveying the messages of Swach Bharat Mission, Drive against the open defication, sanitation and health.
A rally displaying the different messages having playcards in their hands was also taken out by the trainees through some of the lanes of Jammu City, which was followed by cultural programme comprising of songs, dances, skits on panchayati Raj Institutions and other themes displaying their talent. The Staff members and Faculty members also participated in the programme. The trainees also carried on the cleaning of the surroundings of the Institute.
The Regional Director, of the Institute K. B. Magotra, while speaking on the occasion laid stress to adopt the features of the Local Self Government as it unites the Masses with Democracy and encourages them to participate in its activities without any bias or prejudice in the country.
The Regional Director also emphasied on the students to disseminates the messages of Swachch Bharat Mission, anti pollution, anti open defecation, to save water and to save the nature as the father of the Nation was also the proponent of clean India. The features of Smart Cities were also discussed. Patriotics songs by trainees were also sung by the trainees. |
