KATRA, Oct 7: Hundreds of workers and youths from the BJP, NC, Congress and PDP joined hands with independent candidate Saraf Singh Nag here today in a day long workers' convention in which workers drawn from Katra town and surrounding Panchayats participated. Speaking on the occasion Saraf Singh Nag said that it is very unfortunate that Katra town and peripheral Panchayats are crying for development for the last four years but all in vain. He said that several problems and issues were highlighted in workers' meet today. People complained of ignorance, arrogance and nonseriousness of local representative who remained minster in the last BJP-PDP government and held as many as 8 departments but with zero output for the people, he added. Nag said the lanes and drains of Katra town are in shambles. The condition of old bazar, which is a heritage site is in such dilapidated condition that it is very difficult to access it. During the convention, workers from Panchayats Sundrani, Muttal, Dhanu, Seen Brahmana, Buttan, Panthal, Treen Mayari, Aghar Jitto and Sarna complained of poor water and power supply besides raised the issue of shortage of staff in several schools in their areas. |
