Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 7: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik's made a shocking allegation against political parties in the state, accusing them of all the "mess" the Valley is in. Malik, who took charge as the governor in August this year, was earlier the governor of Bihar. In his statement, he said that "all parties created Kashmir mess", specifically targetting the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) and the Congress parties. He said that NC and Congress are responsible for violence in the Valley but the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party were spared from the criticism. The governor stressed that all parties barring BJP and PDP are responsible for the poor state of affairs in the state. Unidentified terrorists on Friday attacked three Jammu and Kashmir National Conference workers in the Karfali Mohalla area of old Srinagar, killing two and injuring one person. The attack came just days before the municipal elections in Jammu and Kashmir in Wards 16, 17 and 74, that are scheduled to be held on October 8. The People's Democratic Party and National Conference have boycotted the elections. Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and JKNC chief Omar Abdullah condemned the attack. "Nazir Ahmed Bhat (working in the office of MLA Shamima Firdous) and Mushtaq Ahmed Wani have been killed," he said in a poignant post on Twitter. "Shakeel Ahmad Zangoo has been injured and is in hospital." |
