Arrest of three students at Punjab: Terrorists availing benefits of Centre's scholarship to spread terror network in India | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 10: With the arrest of three Valley based students for their links with Zakir Mussa's terror outfit, one thing has established that genuine and deserving students of J&K are being ignored in taking benefit of Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme at the cost of adjusting supporters of terror groups. This is not the first time that students, who are 'studying' outside J&K under scholarship schemes sponsored by the Union Government are arrested for links with terrorists. Credible sources said that terrorists and their supporters were taking maximum benefits of Centre's scholarship schemes to spread footprints of terror groups across the country. "Instead of checking credentials of those who are availing benefits of Centre's scholarship of schemes, J&K government provided all opportunities to the terrorists and their sympathizers to avail this scheme to spread terror network across the country", sources said. Important to mention here that Punjab Police and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested three students of a Jalandhar institute for alleged terror links. By their arrest, the police claim to have busted a terror module of Kashmiri terror outfit, Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH). The students were nabbed from the hostel of CT Institute of Engineering Management and Technology located in Shahpur on the outskirts of Jalandhar, DGP Suresh Arora said in a statement issued here. The joint team, which conducted a raid at the hostel on Wednesday morning, also recovered two weapons, including an assault rifle, as well as explosives from the hostel room of B Tech (civil) student of second semester, Zahid Gulzar. Zahid was detained along with Mohd Idriss Shah and Yasir Rafiq Bhatt. Addressing the media in Jalandhar, CP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said one of the students arrested at Jalandhar is a cousin of Zakir Musa aka Zakir Rashid Bhat who heads Ansar-Ghazwat-ul-Hind. |
