| Youth injured in mine blast along LoC | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Oct 17: As per reports a 22 years old man was injured seriously when he inadvertently stepped in on an abandoned land mine near forward location in Mendhar tehsil in Poonch district today.
The injured has been identified as Mohd Ramzan s/o Mohad Hussain resident of forward Deri Dabsi village in Balakot sector.
Police said that the injured along with other villagers was collecting dry grass (fodder) in forward location under the area manned by Madras regiment.
At about 4 pm the injured inadvertently stepped on an abandoned mine and in the subsequent blast the victim received splinter injuries.
He was immediately provided first aid on the spot by the army doctor and was shifted to sub district hospital at Mendhar.
The doctors after necessary treatment referred him for specialised treatment at district hospital at Rajouri.
"Whether the victim was a working as a porter with army or was cutting grass along with other villagers is matter of investigation. He was injured near a forward location.
The victim was referred to hospital at Rajouri" said Neeraj Kumar, SDPO, Mendhar. |
