Food Safety Department inspects confectionery shops during festive season | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Oct 17: A team of Food Safety department today raided on different confectionary shops, Ganpti Restaurants and Food corners during festive season and collected sample for hygienic food service to general public. Pankaj Soni, District Officer, Food safety department in the direction of District Development Commissioner Kathua with his officials constituted a team and collected number of samples of food items. The officer informed that many unhygienic items were destroyed during inspection in fact Many boxes of Fortune refined oil, Cheese etc were seized. The officer disclosed that the samples of Fortune branded products were picked up that found sub-standard. He informed that many boxes were seized today again to know the quality of the Fortune branded product with the aim to know whether stakeholders reformed their products and provide quality products to general public or not. The team has been constituted further for periodical check up. The department is keen to provide quality material and nobody will be left unchecked, the officers informed and added that the stakeholders should use standard materials for manufacturing of products as no compromise will be accepted for the health of public. Food safety department sought co-operation from customers and appealed to provide information to department if they find sub-standard or stale food items in the market. |
