Early Times Report jammu, Nov 3: A medical check-up camp was organized by Government Medical College for specially able children at Channi Rama. According to press release, a special team of doctors constituted by the Principal Medical College, Jammu on the request of IRCS, visited Home for Mentally Retarded Children, Channi Rama. All inmates of the home (male/female) were examined by a team of doctors viz. Dr. Rakesh Banal, Dr.Mohi Kalsotra, Dr. Tania from Department of Psychiatry, Deptt. of Medicine, Deptt. of Obst. & Gynai of Govt. Medical College Hospital besides Dr.Vinod Dhar, from J&K, Health Department and Dr. Shelly Mahajan, Medical Officer, IRCS, Jammu Region also helped and facilitated for proper screening of each and every inmate. The doctors observed iron and calcium deficiencies in most of the children besides some cases of expected Thyroid were also noticed. The team recommended for some pathological tests in a few cases. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary, thanked the Principal, Govt. Medical Collage Hospital, Jammu for deputing the Doctors of different specialities and hope such type of support in future also. Neeraj Anand, Member, Executive Committee of Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region who also visited the Home interacted with the children and staff and assured all possible help from time to time for the betterment of the these children. |
