SRINAGAR, Nov 3: More than half of the faculty members of Government Medical College Srinagar's Bio-Chemistry department are on leave, badly affecting the work. It has been learnt that the doctors of the department are on leave without giving any intimation to the Principal's office, said sources. "The department is facing various problems in carrying out routine works for last many days due to unavailability of the staff," sources said, adding that it is very unfortunate that an essential department, which carries out blood tests and others important tests, is almost lying empty, raising question mark over the working of the department as well as the institute. Pointing out the casual approach of the concerned authority, sources asked how half of the faculty member could go on leave. And who has allowed them? "Is the GMC serious about the functioning of its departments? Who is responsible if anything will happens in the absence of faculty members," asked sources. |
