JAMMU, Nov 4: The Geological Survey of India's (GSI's) gallery was declared as the Best Informative and Interactive Gallery at the 3- day exhibition on 'Rise in Jammu & Kashmir -2018' which concluded here last evening. The Exhibition was organized by Government of India under aegis of PMO at Yatri Niwas Bhawan in which nearly 40 Government of India's Departments and PSUs participated. These included GSI, ISRO, IIIM, SAIL besides State Government departments. The Exhibition focused on Space Research, Power & Energy, Medication & Healthcare Amenities, Infrastructure Development and Transportation, IT, Science and Technology, Environment Conservation, Handloom & Handicraft, Tourism and Culture. Various government schemes and policies on these sectors were highlighted at the mega show. The Exhibition received good response from the local public and school students, civil society besides visiting Vaishno Devi pilgrims who were immensely benefited by the knowledge of these important development departments imparted to the public at the event. GSI Gallery showcasing rocks, minerals and fossils as specimens along with Thematic Maps on Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Geology, Earthquake Geology, Paleontology, etc. pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir were displayed on panels. It attracted maximum number of visitors of all ages. |
