GMC admin compromises safety guidelines, indulges in wasteful expenditure | | | Early Times Report jammu, Nov 12: While the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu is facing shortage of funds, some officials of the same institute are leaving no stone unturned to waste Tax Prayers' money. Funds are reportedly wasted on three floor building being constructed at the cost of Rs 70 Lakhs near Anatomy Department of the GMC Jammu even as there was no requirement of National Medical Commission of India (NMC/ MCI). Credible Sources told that recently management of the same institute is ready to construct a three-floor building near newly constructed Library and Anatomy Department despite objections and it is also against the expansion plan of the GMC Jammu. The construction has reportedly threatened the existing buildings in the vicinity. "The same will not only restrict the cross ventilation of the hospital but also restrict the sunlight and it will also not be possible for Fire Brigade vehicles to reach out existing buildings (Canteen, other adjoining buildings in case of fire or during any natural calamity like earthquakes etc. "sources claimed. Sources also said that it is totally wasteful investment as there is dire need of certain important works, but no one is paying attention to address the issues. Moreover, the patients are not getting drugs from the hospital due to reported shortage of funds. |
