Early Times Report jammu, Nov 12: That the BJP is a divided party became visible on Monday after two of its candidates filed their nominations for the post of chairman in the same Municipal Committee in Jammu district. Source said that a new entrant into the BJP, backed by a senior leader and resident of same MC, has taken support of three BJP candidates, three Independents and one Congress candidate and filed his nomination for the post of chairman of the MC. Ironically, another candidate of the BJP, who has many year association with the party, also filed his nomination for chairman of the same MC and has support of only six BJP candidates. There are 13 posts of councillors in the MC out of which nine councillors of BJP have won. The rest are three independents and one Congress candidate. If sources are to be believed, a senior leader of BJP who is holding an important designation in Sangathan backed the new entrant and also managed support of three independents and one Congress candidate in favour of his choicest candidate for the post of chairman and duped the second candidate of the BJP who is serving in the party for so many years. |
