Kaun banega MC Udhampur president? | | | Ashwani Sharma Early Times Report udhampur, Nov 17: Though the BJP is trying its level best to win the coveted seats of President and Vice President of Municipal Council Udhampur yet luck seems to be on Panther Party's side. With the visit of senior BJP leader Kavinder Gupta to the town some success has been made by the saffron but still they are short of two members to assure their victory. Sources informed that BJP had ensured support of nine members including its own four but the magic number of 11 still needs two more members. Surinder Singh Khalsa today filled the nomination form from the BJP side for the post of vice President and his good relations with all may get him the presidential chair. Singh however assured that he will be victorious even as Dr Jogeshwar Gupta (brother of Pawan gupta )yesterday filed the nomination form for the post of president from the side of bjp party However, the rival Panthers Party is claiming the support of 11 members and this is disturbing BJP though MLA Udhampur, Pawan Gupta too has endured support of his candidate to BJP after Kavinder negotiated. It is pertinent to mention that the political development came in the wake of elections to the Municipal Council There are total 21 Councellors in Udhampur Municipality of which 9 are independents, BJP has 4, Panthers have 6 and Congress has 2. For the post of President and Vice President one has to get at least support of 11 councillor's While Priti Khajuria wining candidate from the congress party filled the nomination form for the post of Vice President with the help of panther party sport and Sunil proch filled the nomination form for the post of president from the panther party side. Both the partys BJPand PP try their best for making the president and Vice President of municipal councillor Udhampur and Monday is the day of sceret vote and result will be announce on the same day .
